Members of the public and police staff have until 10am on Friday to apply to become an officer with Wiltshire Police.

A spokesman said; "We will be recruiting police officers to create a pool of applicants from which to fill a number of future intakes, with a view to successful candidates commencing work for Wiltshire Police from late 2015 onwards.

"The application process is very robust and lengthy, taking around 46 weeks from the initial application stage to the date employment will commence with Wiltshire Police."

Applicants must apply via the online pre-assessment tool which can only be accessed on the following browsers; Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3.6, Google Chrome 8, Safari 5 (Mac and PC).

The online pre-assessment tool has not been developed for mobile platforms - iPads, tablets, iPhones - so applicants will need to use a laptop or desktop computer.

The initial three steps of the application process will take up to 30 minutes to complete and are split into registration, realistic job preview and eligibility assessment.

All candidates are reminded that details submitted in the registration part of the application must be correct as these details will be used to contact them throughout the process.
