Clarendon Academy in Trowbridge is introducing a new leadership award for pupils, named after Steve Thompson-Martyn, a parent governor at the school for several years, chairman of Governors from 2011 to 2013 and now a trustee of the academy’s sponsor, The Education Fellowship.
Headteacher Mark Stenton said: “Leadership and employability are a major focus for Clarendon; we want all of our young people to be prepared for successful futures and to achieve that you need strong characteristics.
“This award is for those students who have shown real resilience and a commitment to achieving for themselves and others. It is fitting that the award is named after Steve Thompson-Martyn as he has been a major figure in leading Clarendon to the level of excellence we are achieving.”
