THE Devizes Monday Club may be forced to close if a new organiser is not found to run the group.
The club is in its 12th year but members and volunteers are worried as organiser Sarah Ireson is leaving at the end of January and the day centre has not been able to recruit a replacement.
The club meets every Monday, in the lounge at Crammer Court, and offers older people the chance to socialise and keep active through a range of activities.
Club chairman Jackie Pohnert said: “It’s a lovely club and well supported by local people and local organisations such as Devizes Lions and Age UK Wiltshire.
“For some older people it is the only social contact they get so if the club were to close they would be very isolated.”
Volunteers will help to run the club until an organiser can be found. It is a paid post and is flexible for someone looking for a job share.
