Two-year-old Hollie Lee from Trowbridge won the regional Star of the Term award from the Puddle Ducks swimming school for her amazing ability in water.

Hollie was nominated by swimming school owner and teacher, Sarah Peacock, who said: “Hollie joined Puddle Ducks at six months and she literally took to swimming like a duck to water.

“I’ve been teaching babies to swim for over 10 years and, hand on heart, Hollie has to be one of the most natural little swimmers I’ve ever come across.

“She is only two now and can do a beautiful push and glide from the poolside and is very, very close to swimming her five-metre badge.

“Hollie is a joy to teach, full of beans and manages to cram in the most amount of swimming into the 30-minute lesson that she can. She never, ever tires of the water. Her sister Ruby is 11 months old and is showing signs of being just like her big sister.

“Poor mum Deirdre certainly has her hands full, especially as she’s not a keen swimmer herself. There’s no way mum can leave the pool without being soaked to the skin by her two girls’ splashes and kicks.

“There are over 800 babies and children swimming with Puddle Ducks in Wiltshire, BANES, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, so this is a massive achievement for Hollie. She thoroughly deserves to win and I couldn’t be more happy.”

Puddle the Duck went to visit Hollie at her nursery, Seesaw Nursery, in Trowbridge to present her certificate and cuddly Puddle prize.

Puddle Ducks classes are on Monday afternoons at Larkrise School in Trowbridge and are also due to start on Friday afternoons.

Babies can start swimming from newborn to four, and can join at any point in the term, regardless of whether they’ve been swimming before.
