First of all Gladman Developments consulted on a possible housing development at Shurnhold Melksham, and this was followed closely by another in Holt.
The Shurnhold application is on the edge of my ward, while I was county councillor for Holt for many years before the ward boundary was, sadly, changed.
Gladman made such a big thing about consultation with the local community (residents in Shurnhold and Holt are almost 100 per cent against both developments) yet Gladman has followed up the consultation with planning applications.
If Gladman had no intention of listening to the result of the consultation, what was the point of it in the first place and submitting planning applications the community and town and parish councils are totally against?
Councillor Terry Chivers, Independent Melksham Without North, Eden Grove, Whitley, Melksham.
