Warminster's Civic Centre was paid a visit by MP Andrew Murrison last Friday as the Conservative MP for South West Wiltshire took in the WWI exhibition.

Dr Murrison, who is also Prime Minister David Cameron’s special representative for the Centenary Commemoration of the First World War, was shown around the exhibit which is running to January 27 showing memorabilia and personal records of people who took part in the war from the Warminster area Dr Murrison, who served as a medical officer in the navy, said: “I would recommend anyone local to come along to the exhibition and it’s vital that children come to these exhibitions as this generation will be the first without a tangible link to WWI.

“Compared to other exhibitions I have seen this is top notch and very high quality.”

Dr Murrison was shown around by creator Richard Broadhead of Wiltshire Soldiers, who has previously held the exhibition in other local towns such as Trowbridge and Devizes which have attracted more than 20,000 visitors.
