Police have praised a quick-thinking neighbour who alerted them to a suspected burglary in Longfield Road, Trowbridge, on Saturday.
Officers called out around 3pm were able to find a man nearby with property that was believed to be stolen, before the householder had even arrived home.
Trowbridge man Marcin Szymanowski, 39, of The Brambles, was later charged with burglary and criminal damage to a car on Sunday.
He appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, pleaded guilty and has been remanded in custody for sentencing.
Inspector Chris Chammings said: “This shows that when we get accurate and current intelligence we can act quickly and bring offenders to justice. It was a great call from the neighbour.”
