The hotel team at Chippenham Leigh Delamere Westbound Travelodge are celebrating news that their hotel is to receive an £125,000 make-over this year, as part of a nationwide £100 million brand modernisation programme. The revamp will totally transform the 31-room hotel giving it a new contemporary, fresh look and feel. Work is expected to take four weeks and will be completed in Summer 2015.

The hotel which is located on will receive a complete make-over which includes a new room design which has been created by Travelodge customers. The biggest investment in the new room is an upgraded new luxury king size bed called the Travelodge Dreamer which is used predominately by luxury hotels worldwide. The bed boasts a 952 pocket sprung mattress and each individual spring is designed to follow the natural contour of an individual’s body in order to provide the correct amount of support and comfort to ensure they receive a good quality night’s sleep.

In addition truckle beds have been installed into family rooms offering children their own individual bed. As part of the refurbishment programme the hotel’s reception area will also be updated too. To date Travelodge, has modernised 87% of its rooms across the UK and all Travelodge rooms across the country now include the luxurious Travelodge Dreamer bed. To further grow its business, Travelodge, the fastest growing major UK hotel brand in 2014*, is capitalising on its strong performance and is opening 15 new hotels in 2015, across the UK, with an investment value of almost £100 million.

The new hotels include four London locations, which includes: Richmond, Raynes Park, Wembley and Greenwich - cementing Travelodge’s position as the capital’s biggest hotel brand. Other locations include a new central Glasgow property and key regional locations including the Thames Valley tech corridor, Southampton and Bristol.

Travelodge has also identified potential for more than 150 further hotels across the UK, with the new hotels expected to support the creation of a further 3,000 new jobs. The company has signed its first three hotels towards its long-term expansion plans, with new properties at London Dagenham, Dover and Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, at a total investment value of £13 million.

Chippenham Leigh Delamere Westbound Travelodge opened in 2001 and is managed by Timothy Snelling. The hotel employs six people.

Travelodge has also announced that it is looking for a new site in Bath, as part of its plans to open more than 150 hotels over the next eight years.
