Last week you carried an article about litter in Trowbridge.
Sadly, this is not confined to Trowbridge. I live in North Bradley and we suffer from the garbage from McDonald’s and KFC. It is a national affliction.
Travelling on the A303 and M3 towards London I wondered whether the Highways Agency had a policy to cover the verges with a litter mulch to suppress the grass. What impression do our foreign visitors going to Stonehenge and Salisbury from London get?
Does anyone think about the effect on tourists? With the continuing reduction of council expenditure this may be something we will have to live with, unless our councillors are prepared to spend a few days litter picking themselves – or at least the ones with the power to change things walking some of the footpaths and roadsides to see the extent of the problem.
