VISITING restrictions introduced because of a norovirus outbreak have now been lifted at the Royal United Hospital, Bath.

A spokesman said: "However, norovirus is still prevalent in the community so it’s important we do what we can to keep it out of the hospital environment.

"Visitors can help by using the hand gel on entering and leaving wards, not sitting on beds, and keeping contact with surfaces to a minimum.

"Hand washing is also the best way to keep norovirus from spreading, so we ask that all visitors wash their hands carefully after eating or using our facilities.

"We’d also like to thank patients and visitors for their patience and understanding throughout the recent outbreak."
