SECURITY camera operators and members of the public helped police arrest three teenagers suspected of stealing a handbag from a newsagent shop.
Police had a call from Stallard News at about 9.20am yesterday to say three men had burst into the back area of the shop. The police were able to pass on descriptions to CCTV operators in the town centre.
Three teenagers were spotted at the lower level entrance to Castle Place car park, in St Stephen's Place.
Pc Nigel Willcocks, of Trowbridge police, was first on the scene and members of the public pointed him in the right direction and he arrested two teenagers.
A third was chased into the Longfield estate and was arrested. A handbag was later found in the river Biss.
A teenager has been charged with burglary, a second with handling stolen goods while a third was released without charge.
