MUSIC enthusiasts keen to buy exclusive vinyl and CDs queued down the road outside Warminster’s Raves from the Grave record shop on Saturday for Record Store Day.

The international event, which originated in America in 2007, sees thousands of people looking to get their hands on rare vinyl and CDs offered exclusively on the day.

Held by independent record shops only, the store located on Weymouth Street held the event for its fourth year attracting large numbers of music lovers and collectors.

Shop worker Alan Gould said: “It was the busiest day we’ve ever had since the store opened in 2009.

“We had people queuing outside the shop from 7am even though we weren’t going to open until 9am all the way down past the shops to the car park and it’s definitely the biggest queue we’ve had.

“Right up until 6pm when we closed we had people coming in to buy exclusive vinyl and CDs which ranged from under £10 all the way to £100.”

Exclusive items for sale included CDs by David Bowie, three 12-inch singles from indie band 1975, a replica of Tom Jones’ first single ‘Chills and Fever’ plus a whole host of other collectables from Elvis, Bruce Springsteen and other music greats.
