MITSUBISHI in Melksham has donated one of its most environmentally friendly cars to Dorothy House to allow it to lower its costs when travelling to care for patients.

The garage, on Western Way, decided to support the work of the Winsley-based charity by lending them an Outlander Hybrid vehicle for a year. James Ryan, sales manager said the combined electric and petrol engine will see the charity substantially lower its travelling costs.

He added: “It is always great to help local charities in keeping their costs down which means they have more funds available for their care services.

“Dorothy House does a lot of shorter journeys so the key thing is they are able to use it as an electric vehicle which is half the price of running it as a fuelled car.”

Dorothy House needs to raise more than £9,500 a day to provide round-the-clock care to patients.

Emily Knight, events fundraiser said: “We are so lucky to have this environmentally friendly hybrid to use for our variety of fundraising and awareness activities as it’ll save the charity a lot of money in fuel costs.”

Mitsubishi also donated an Outlander Hybrid car to local tax firm A & N Accountancy Services.
