WILTSHIRE rider Pete Kibble clinched fourth place at the 2015 Isle of Man International Junior Tour event.

The 17 year old, from the hamlet of New Zealand near Calne, competed in the prestigious event alongside 80 of the best junior (aged 17-18) riders.

Competing in the prologue along Douglas Promenade, Kibble finished the time trial just seven seconds behind the winner of the stage, Joe Holt, of County Cycles.

A gruelling 65-mile stage through a howling gale and driving rain saw Kibble ride rode strongly to finish third.

Going into the final 58-mile stage, he was a minute behind the overall leader, Charlie Quarterman, but finished the race in the main bunch which placed him a creditable fourth in the overall Tour.

The consistency of his Velocity Global Bike’s Teammates handed them the team prize – five minutes ahead of Catford Cycling Club.

Kibble takes part in the next stage of the national Junior road race series in Scotland on June 7.
