STEVE Lloyd area coordinator for Wiltshire’s Operation Christmas Child is appealing for a storage space he can use to keep woolly hats and small gifts ahead of this year’s appeal.

He is hoping residents in either Trowbridge, Westbury or Melksham would generously let him use their garages or a small lock-up to store the presents before the appeal starts and he finds a warehouse.

Every year thousands of shoeboxes are sent from the county to youngsters in poorer parts of the world.

My Lloyd said: “Unfortunately I have run out of space at my home, I don’t want to say no to people who are dropping things off but I have no where to put them, so just need somewhere small-scale to store the items.”

Groups of knitters have already been busy preparing for this year’s appeal too, which is organised by the Samaritan’s Purse, and Mr Lloyd has received 1,000 woolly hats.
