BMX superstar and world record holder Matti Hemmings will be headlining this year’s Warminster Wobble Cycling Festival, which promises to be bigger than ever.

The free festival, which is now in its seventh year, will take place from June 13-14 at the town’s park and attempts to encourage people to use two wheels instead of four to get around.

As well as Hemmings, who is also a presenter on Nickelodeon's Get Your Skills On show, pro-rider Chris Smith will also be in attendance and there will be the usual mix of trade stands, children's entertainment and whacky bikes.

New for this year is the Turbo Challenge, where two riders get to battle it out on turbo trainers linked to a central computer measuring power output.

Event organiser Colin French said: “Last year's event was incredible and we were very lucky with the weather.

“This year there is already a lot of interest and we have increased the amount on offer at the festival because of funding we have secured.

“Everyone seems to be talking about it and the wonderful thing is this whole event is free thanks to support we get from the town council and local charities and businesses.”
