A TROWBRIDGE woman who was accused of taking part in a burglary has had the charge against her dropped after a second man admitted his role in the offence.

Jennifer Stickley and Paul Alcock had been due to stand trial accused of taking part in the break-in at a house at Wessington Park, Calne, in June last year.

But after 26-year-old Alcock changed his plea to guilty at Swindon Crown Court prosecutors said they would not seek a trial on Stickley, 20, who has admitted three thefts from cars.

A third defendant, Robert Stubberfield, 19, pleaded guilty to burglary and two of the thefts from cars at an earlier hearing.

All three will now be sentenced by a judge on Friday, July 3, after the probation service have compiled pre-sentence reports.

Alcock, of Bratton Avenue, Devizes, and Stubberfield, of Silver Street, Trowbridge, admitted the burglary where a laptop computer and TV were taken.

Stubberfield also admitted he took garden equipment from one car and a sat-nav from another during the same night, but he denied the theft of a floodlight.

Stickley formerly of Westview Crescent, Devizes, but now also living in Silver Street, Trowbridge, admitted all three thefts.

At another hearing Stubberfield also pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis between June 29 and August 24 last year as well as being in possession of amphetamines for his own use on Tuesday, June 10.
