BRITAIN’S most successful gymnast Beth Tweddle will be visiting Warminster’s Springboard Gymnastics and Activity Centre to put students through their spins and turns this weekend.

The Olympic bronze medallist will be visiting the centre on Saturday and holding five coaching sessions throughout the day with gymnasts of all abilities.

The centre, which opened in January 2014 at Woodcock Industrial Estate, has more than 300 members from as young as three-years old.

Owner and coach of the Springboard Gymnastics and Activity Centre, Suzy Creese, said: “At Christmas I thought what can we do to really get the children inspired and I just sent Beth an email to ask if she could come down.

“She said yes and everyone is really excited as you’d imagine and she is someone for people to look up to.

“Having Beth come to the club to work with our gymnasts and coaches is the start of what the future holds for us.

“We have planned a very special day that we hope will inspire our gymnasts and remain in their hearts.”

Around 20 students from the centre also recently took part in a Jump for June event, raising £86.64 after completing 7,434 seat landings in an hour.

The money will go to Winston’s Wish, which cares for children who have suffered a family bereavement.
