ON June 20 six Cub packs, Bradford on Avon, Broughton Gifford & Holt, Hilperton, Southwick & North Bradley, 1st Trowbridge and Warminster, with a total of 45 Senior Cubs and 16 leaders/helpers took part in an activity at the District Campsite Jubilee Wood, near Trowbridge.

Sunny weather was ordered and they were not disappointed. At the start the Cubs were excited about what lay in store. The day started with the Cubs being put into Jungle Book character groups, and they then gathered wood, laid and lit the altar fires. After that they prepared pizza dogs and Hawaiian chicken with rice. These delights were cooked backwoods style followed by Smores. The Cubs also made a camp fire biscuit, chocolate fingers stacked on a digestive biscuit held together by icing with flames (strawberry ribbon sweets) coming out of the fire, delicious.

Whilst the food was cooking on the open fires the Cubs had a post box wide game, great fun, and built up an appetite. Lunch followed and after clearing up the Cubs undertook four challenges: minefield, shelter building, guttering challenge and a Jubilee Wood quiz. These were all good Scouting skills. Certificates were presented and the Cubs took their parents home having had a good day.
