KAVANAGHS have announced the letting of a unit on the Bowerhill Industrial Estate, Melksham, to VML Vanguard on a new three-year lease, to allow them to establish a southern regional base of clients in Wiltshire.
VML Vanguard specialises in moving machinery, installing of production and process lines and contract lifting for heavy structures for companies and their new unit, on Hercules Way, provides the company with practical storage and office space in a secure environment.
Claire Willis, commercial director for VML Vanguard said: “The new Melksham depot will enable us to improve our service to existing customers in the southern region of the UK, as well as develop new clients in the area and throughout the south-west which is the home to many sectors such as aerospace, automotive as well as food and beverage processing.”
VML Group have already established a number of new clients in the area including the Swindon-based company Tyco and furniture manufacturers Herman Miller. They will be assisting the company move into their new 170,000 sq ft building located nearby on the A350.
Paul Connor, the operations manager for the southern region, who is based at Melksham, will oversee and organise the de-commissioning and re-commissioning works and added the company is always on the lookout to recruit more staff.
He said: “It is our objective to recruit specialists from the local area for skilled site labour. We are actively seeking potential suppliers such as electricians, pipe work engineers, fabricators and plumbers. We are delighted with our new premises and look forward to being part of the vibrant Wiltshire business scene.”
Alison Williams, associate director at Kavanaghs Commercial added: “Wiltshire is a hub of activity. The improved economic climate is enabling companies to expand and relocate to new premises. Following the election confidence is growing as well as increasing numbers of enquiries from successful organisations seeking industrial properties throughout Wiltshire.”
