PRIMARY school children across Devizes took part in fun filled morning for reception pupils last Friday based on the theme of countries.
Over 280 youngsters from Devizes and the surrounding villages took part in the event at Devizes School, which saw the children take part in a variety of activities.
These included a water relay, sack race, obstacle course, target throwing and a dressing up race.
Heather Bissell, PE teacher and DSSN coordinator at Devizes School, said: “This year back by popular demand the day gave reception students the opportunity to participate in a variety of exciting and fun activities.
“It was a wonderful event that demonstrated a clear, strong partnership between the primaries and secondary school.
“The morning was kick started with a warm-up to Uptown Funk by the Devizes School dance leaders in year 10.
“Teams were then allocated with a country to represent and a flag to parade with the students rotating around activities. A fantastic job was done by all.”
The event was organised by Devizes School Sports Network, which was set up to improve the provision of PE in primary schools across the area, and Southbroom Infant School.
Bishop Cannings Primary School had also organised for its year five leaders to help at the event.
