CARE homes across the county opened their doors to the masses last month as part of national care homes open day.
On June 19 the Bupa Market Lavington Nursing and Residential Centre invited friends and family for the day with the theme bringing the countryside into the care home.
Along with cream teas and musical entertainment visitors and residents were able to get up close with animals from Ewe Mobile Farm.
Mary-Ann Pugh, home administrator, said: “By early afternoon the garden was full of residents and their families and friends.
“For the gardeners there was the opportunity to plant up hanging baskets and pots which will be admired for the rest of the year.
“The mayor of Devizes Roger Giraud Saunders kindly spent the whole afternoon with us, enjoying the festivities and met with many members of staff, residents and their families.”
Residents at Cepen Lodge Care Home in Chippenham also celebrated the day with a tea dance and a dancing costume competition and Dauntsey House Care home in West Lavington held an afternoon cream tea.
