TROWBRIDGE based charitable housing association The Selwood Housing Group has announced that it has brought training provider The Learning Curve into its group.

The Learning Curve is an established charity based in Melksham and delivering a network of community-based learning across the South West.

As a result of the merger both organisations will be able to offer a wider range of services to more people in the local area.

Barry Hughes, Group chief executive of The Selwood Housing Group, said: “We see the addition of The Learning Curve as a fantastic opportunity for Selwood Housing Group.

“Both charities are focused on improving the lives of those living within our communities and we hope that our tenants will really be able to benefit from the courses on offer.”

The Learning Curve currently provides courses to support young people, ex-offenders, carers, unemployed adults, older people and volunteers. They will also be tailoring courses specifically to Selwood Housing tenants and staff.

Tim Ward, chief executive of The Learning Curve said: “Staff and management at The Learning Curve are very excited and positive about the merger.

“Firstly this will enable us to sustain and develop our existing support for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our communities.

“Secondly we will be able to provide Selwood Housing’s tenants, staff and communities tailored and accessible courses to enhance their skills and improve their work and life chances.”
