POLICE arrested six teenagers in The Down area of Trowbridge on Saturday night (Aug 29), following reports from members of the public about criminal damage and a chase.

Officers were initially called to St Thomas’ Road, after one member of the public reported someone being chased by a group of youngsters, while another resident reported criminal damage.

The youngsters were arrested on suspicion of various crimes, with one 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and criminal damage at the scene.

He was then taken into custody where he was then charged with a racially aggravated public order offence. He has been bailed to attend the youth court in Chippenham on September 22.

Another 16-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and was bailed pending further enquiries. Officers also arrested two girls, aged 15 and 14, on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug, intent to supply and criminal damage.

Police also arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of a public order offence, criminal damage and possession of an imitation firearm, before being bailed pending further enquiries.

A further 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm (ABH), criminal damage and possession of an imitation firearm and was bailed until the end of October.
