THE Cubs were so excited when the topic of Dr Who was announced at the District Cub Scout Scrap Heap Challenge on 2Saturday, held at Southwick & North Bradley Scout HQ. The Cubs undertook the challenge of building various Dr Who characters and time travel items from scrap items with enthusiasm, it is amazing what can be created from scrap with a bit of imagination.
The winners were Warminster Cubs, Alex Stratham, Douglas McFarlane, Liam Jones, Caoimhe Tully, AJ Meadow and Oliver Williams who built a variety of items associated with Dr Who including a Dalek, K9, Cybermen, Monsters and a Tardis. Seven packs from the district took part and there were some wonderful and unique creations.
The event was organised by ADC Cub Scouts Chris Broom and assisted by many leaders from the district. Guest judge was the DC Sue Duncan and due to the high quality of the creations decision time was very difficult, there was only one point between the winners and everyone else. The creations disappeared out of the hall at the end with some very proud owners.
