A TEENAGER suffered serious injuries after a crash on the A365 near Melksham last night.
The 19-year-old male driver of a Peugeot 205 sustained hip and leg injuries which police say could be life threatening.
He was driving around a left hand bend at Vernons Farm between Melksham and Redstocks at about 10.40pm last night when his car was in collision with a Vauxhall Astra travelling in the opposite direction.
Firefighters were called to the scene and had to cut him out of his car before he was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
Three of the four occupants of the Vauxhall Astra were also cut from their car and were taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath with what police describe as minor injuries.
Police closed the road for several hours while investigations continued and they are appealing for witnesses to the incident. They should call Pc Appleton on 01249 449688.
