HUNDREDS of revellers danced the day and night away at the 12th annual Holt Music Festival on Saturday.
Featuring all types of music for all tastes from Motown to Morris Dancing, the event, which raises money for Holt Village Hall, proved as popular as ever.
Top of the bill this year was Respect, a Motown, soul and disco band, ably supported by young Trowbridge-based outfit Local Heroes, who played an extensive list of songs by Razorlight, Green Day and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
The fun kicked off in Holt Playing Field at 1.30pm with traditional dancing from Holt Morris Dancers, who also invited some clogging and belly dancing friends along to perform.
Steve Robinson, a Bath-based artist went down a storm with his evening acoustic drum set, and Alan Briars and the Laundry Yard Scrub Band proved a popular, if unusual attraction, with their skiffle treatment of traditional gospel, blues, country and folk songs in the marquee.
Sixties revival band Carnaby Street and Tessa Bickers from radio station 3TR FM were also on hand to keep the crowds on their feet.As well as live music there was a children's entertainer, traditional fete stalls, fairground rides, a bouncy castle and licensed bar throughout the day.
