A TALENT show extravaganza hosted by Westwood with Iford School last Friday proved to be a roaring success after a three year break.

Pupils from Year 1-6 put on an evening of an evening of magic, dance, music and much more in front of a sell-out audience.

Attendees were treated to the youngsters showing off their skills in singing, music, martial arts, science displays, comedic sketches and poetry among other performances.

Headteacher Ian Rockey lauded the show and the young and varied talent on display.

"I can certainly say that Westwood with Iford has talent and lots of it," Mr Rockey.

"It was a fantastic evening and a great community event. The kids were on top form, it was very polished and they were so confident in their delivery.

"They were not daunted in the slightest by an absolutely packed audience. The atmosphere was superb and it was a lovely spectacle.

"I am very proud of all of them. I am chuffed with them every day but on Friday I was beaming with pride. They put everything into it and it went off in cracking style."

Administrative assistant Joanita Batten added: “It was a really exciting event and great fun for everyone involved. The kids really strutted their stuff,” said

“The children were so excited as it was a wonderful opportunity for them to demonstrate their skills to a large audience.”

The event was organised by Friends of Westwood School as part of their many fundraising events to provide additional funds for the small village school.
