COMMUTERS heading to Bath from Wiltshire using the A36 Warminster Road will not be affected by road closures as the work will take place at night.

Resurfacing will take place on the A36 Warminster Road between Church Lane, Monkton Combe and the Midford Lane/Church Lane junction at Limpley Stoke, across both northbound and southbound lanes. The work takes place on weekdays between 9pm and 6am until July 19.

Highways England said: “Due to the type of work taking place and to ensure the safety of both the travelling public and our workforce, It will be necessary to fully close a section of the A36 between Bath and the A350 at Warminster to through traffic, while the night-time work is taking place.”

“Access will be maintained for residents and emergency services, and where applicable, for local businesses.”

They added that northbound through-traffic will be diverted from the A36 just west of Warminster to take the A350 north to Chippenham, where traffic will join the A4 west to Bath.

Southbound traffic will be diverted at Bath to take the A4 east towards Chippenham and then south on the A350 to join the A36 west of Warminster. For details call 0300 123 5000 or email info@highwaysengland.co.uk
