Cumberwell Golf Club hosted a night to remember for 170 students from Melksham Oak who celebrated the end of their school life in style at their Year 11 prom.

The students, dressed head to toe in posh frocks and dapper suits, arrived at the golf club in Bradford on Avon on Thursday, July 6 in an array of flash cars, motorbikes and lorries.

Pastoral manager Pat Cooper said: "The prom went really well. It was a real coming together and a chance to say goodbye to their school life.

"They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we had fireworks at the end.

"It was a lovely evening and they all left by 11pm to go to other parties.

"We didn’t have any really outlandish vehicles this year, but we did have a couple of limos, nice cars and a few motorbikes.

"The students all dressed up for the occasion and it is so lovely to see them in their suits and dresses looking very grown up.

"The year group are a very lively but very noisy bunch and it is going to be a lot quieter without them!"

The 15 and 16-year-olds also celebrated their prom with a meal, casino tables, awards and a party.
