MORE than £750 was raised by a Bradford on Avon nursery in aid of a local mum who has multiple sclerosis.

Catkins Nursery held a crazy calamity fundraising event on July 7 in aid of mother of six Leanda Alatoum as part of her efforts to raise £30,000 for a revolutionary treatment she hopes will change her life.

The 28 children at the nursery, in Trowbridge Road, took part in an obstacle course, a raffle and a cake sale, with the proceeds going towards a potential cure for the 31-year-old.

Mrs Alatoum, who has two children attending the nursery, Amira, three, and Malik, two, said: "I was stunned by how much the nursery managed to raised. I am so grateful to each and everyone who helped - bless them all.

"I was actually completely gobsmacked when they announced the total, I was not expecting it to have raised such a big amount. The children were fantastic and really did so well, they were absolute stars, each one of them."
