AN ELDERLY man was taken to hospital this morning after a fire broke out at his home in Melksham.
Two crews from Trowbridge were called to a house in Woodrow Road around 7.30am to reports of a fire in the ground floor living area.

Four breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets to put out the blaze which caused severe damage to the ground floor.
South Western Ambulance Service also attended the scene and took the 82-year-old man man to the Royal United Hospital as he was suffering with smoke inhalation.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.
