Assistant chief constable Kier Pritchard has tweeted his praise for officers who took a knife off a man after a chase in Trowbridge.

Mr Pritchard wrote: "Nice one team. Just think of the damage this could have caused. Superb pro-active policing, well done."

Supt Chris Channings also added his praise after Amy Hardman tweeted about the work of the Trowbridge team this morning. He wrote: "Fantastic work, putting yourselves at risk to keep the public safe. Thank you."

PC Hardman had originally tweeted: "Keeping knives off the streets of Trowbridge. One male arrested after foot chase."
