THE LONG awaited re-opening of Bradford on Avon's Holt Road will come into effect on Tuesday, August 16.

The road, which has been closed since the start of May, will be opened up to its Eastern junction with with Springfields to allow two-way traffic under lights from 7.30am.

Woolley Street, Woolley Terrace and Cemetery Lane will also reopen completely.

Wiltshire Council confirmed that for a temporary period there will only be one way access for traffic travelling from the Western section of Holt Road/Silver Street which will be able to join Springfields at its most Westerly Junction with Holt Road as adjoining traffic.

This will be signed accordingly with a minor diversion route in one direction of Springfields – Mount Pleasant – A363 – Silver Street.

This is to enable the roundabout to be completed as well as a rising Foul Sewer and Footway widening of a section of Footway between the new roundabout and junction with the Southern Section of Woolley Street.

More to follow.
