THE West Wilts Society of Model Engineers have been working full steam ahead to organise a family day of fun at The White Horse Model Engineering and Garden Railway Show.

The event, which will take place on Sunday, September 11, will feature trade stands, model engineering club exhibits from around the region, static displays of model boats, traction engines, motorcycle and hot air engines and more.

Outside, there will be a chance to ride on trains and model traction engines, or even have a go yourself and learn to drive a model ride-on steam engine.

The show will cover a wide range of model engineering activities and railways, vintage and modern, with Mamod type engines for beginner enthusiasts.

The White Horse Country Park, where the event will be held, also have a licensed bar and will be serving Sunday lunches and general refreshments will also be available.

Money raised on the day will go towards Wiltshire Air Ambulance, with the raffle featuring a £100 cash prize and family tickets to a number of heritage railway sites.
