OVER 70 food stalls to tickle everyone’s taste buds will feature at Melksham’s second River & Food Festival on September 3 and 4 in the town’s playing field.

Chilli-lovers will again have the chance to test the strength of their taste buds by eating extreme chillies provided by the Wiltshire Chilli Farm, but there's also plenty on offer for those who aren't so keen on spice.

This year, the festival is going digital, as people attending the festival will be able to download a phone app which will allow them to buy meals at discount prices from a number of restaurants across the town.

By downloading Memberoo via the App Store or Google Play and searching for the River & Food Festival, people will be able to enjoy bargain meals at eateries including the the Kings Arms, Melksham Tandoori, CJ’s Café and more.

There will also be plenty of action on the River Avon, organised by the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust, including raft races and opportunities to try canoeing.

Both Saturday and Sunday will see public boat trips and canoeing sessions as well as a water rescue demonstration by the fire service.

Chairman of the festival, Adrienne Westbrook, said: “A huge number of people enjoyed the Festival last year and we hope they come again in September.

“We have many more stalls and activities for people to enjoy.

“It’s going to be an amazing weekend filled with fun and lovely food, so come along and get involved.”
