EXPERIENCED and beginner runners will put through their paces at the annual Westbury Lions 10k run on Sunday, October 9.

The course will take runners from the White Horse Country Park through Bratton and back to the country park, where medals will be handed to all competitors and trophies to the fastest male and female runners.

Money raised from the event will be handed out to local charities, community groups and individuals picked by Westbury Lions for their work in the community.

Chairman of Westbury Lions, Nigel Coward, said: “It’s a fun event every year with runners of all abilities sand ages entering.

“It’s a very nice course which everyone always seems to enjoy running.

“I would encourage people to get involved as it’s good fun and a great opportunity to raise money for important causes.

“Last year we warmed everybody up with a massive Zumba session which was really good fun – I expect we’ll do something similar this year.”

Entry is £8 before the race and £10 on the day and entry forms are downloadable from Westbury Lions’ website. Entrants must be aged 16 and above.
