POLICE in Trowbridge are urging the public to keep up the fight against drugs in the town, after an operation led to two arrests when two homes on one street were searched and suspected class A drugs, cannabis, scales and mobile phones found.

The warrants were both carried out in Clothier Leaze at around 2.30pm on Wednesday: at one house a .

a 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in offer to supply class A drugs, possession of a class A drug and possession of a class B drug.

He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

At the second house, a 36-year-old from Trowbridge man was found in possession of cannabis and was issued with a cannabis street warning.

PC Mark Hough said: “These two warrants were carried out as a result of community intelligence and were both positive.

“Community intelligence is extremely important in helping us stamp out drug activity in our areas.

“The impact of drugs on a community should never be underestimated, and we take all reports of this nature seriously. I would encourage members of the public who suspect drug activity in their area to report it via 101.”
