HOPE Nature Centre was adorned in all things pink on Friday as staff helped raise money for Breast Cancer Now.
As part of the charity’s Wear It Pink initiative, all members of staff donned pink clothing for day to raise awareness of breast cancer which managed to raise £340.
Karen Powell, finance administrator, said everyone was in high spirits throughout the day.
“We really didn’t expect to raise that amount,” she said.
“Last year we must have raised around £100. It was a great day because we are a charity ourselves so it is always nice to give something to others and we appreciated the support we had on the day.
“We really believe in helping other charities out and we tried to advertise the day on our Facebook page which paid off.”
Based at Southwick Country Park, Hope Nature Centre offered visitors the chance to enter a raffle as well as buy pink cupcakes and sweets in their popular tea room which helped add to the total.
