A WILTSHIRE based charity which provides a home visiting service for pre-school children with developmental difficulties needs the backing of the local community.
Wiltshire Portage receives funding from Wiltshire Council but always has a waiting list of families who need their help.
The small charity has applied to the Aviva Community Fund for £25,000, which would enable more families to be helped, and needs votes to help it get selected for the final.
Suzanne Wickham, chairman of Wiltshire Portage, said: “Families who receive the Portage service know how much difference it can make to their lives.
“The Home Visitors also provide guidance in many other areas, including communication, behaviour, and equipment that can help with disabilities.
“Home Visitors also often support parents when they are looking for suitable schools for their children.
“There are lots more families who need this help and your vote could really make a difference. Please take just a few moments to visit The Aviva Community Fund and use all of your 10 votes for Wiltshire Portage.”
Wiltshire Portage is an independent organisation and a registered charity, providing a free home visiting service to nearly 50 families in Wiltshire.
Voting ends on November 18, visit https://www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/voting/project/view/16-1568
