A NEW gallery has now opened up at the Tithe Barn Workshops in Bradford on Avon, showcasing pieces from a group of local artists.

The Corner Gallery, in Pound Lane, opened its doors to the residents of the town on Saturday (November 26), offering wine and the chance to be one of the first people to have a look at the art pieces that will be on sale.

Tanya Lock, of Hilperton, said: “The opening was very good. We have quite a few people turn up to have a look around. We also set off some fireworks we had left over from Bonfire Night because a number of people had brought their children down too.”

The gallery, which showcases works from four different artists, each with their own unique style, gives shoppers the chance to buy art at a competitive price.

“Our prices are very competitive because we sell them commission free so you are buying art straight from the artists. We are welcoming people to come down and do some Christmas shopping, the thing with chain shops is they sell the same stuff in every store, with a gallery like this we offer truly unique gift ideas,” added Mrs Lock.

Eager Christmas shoppers will also have the chance to visit the gallery with a late night shopping event this weekend.

“We will be holding our late night shopping evening on Saturday at the gallery and will be giving out mulled wine as well. Everyone is welcome to come down and meet the team,” Mrs Lock said.

Corner Gallery will be open from 11am-5pm from Wednesdays to Sundays every week.
