FAMILIES in Bradford on Avon are being tasked with naming all 30 of the Christmas elves that are dotted around the town.

Following the success of this year’s pumpkin trail, thirty of the town’s independent businesses have started off another free festive competition for the little ones of Bradford to enjoy. Participants can pick up a copy of their entry form from businesses such as Piha in Lamb Yard and set off on the quest to list all 30 names before the deadline at 11am on Christmas Eve.

Coleen Walsh, member of staff at Piha, said: “Owner of Piha, Jackie Allan, came up with the idea initially, it is really good. On the 25th of November during the Christmas lights we handed out forms to parents to try and get everyone involved. Everyone is welcome to take part until the morning of December 24 which is when names will be selected for the prize draw. All you have to do is come into the shops displaying the elves and find out their name."

With over 100 entries into the pumpkin trail during the October half term, everyone took the opportunity to start the first ever elf trail in Bradford.

“The pumpkin trail was very successful, we had over 124 forms handed in from that. This is the first elf trail. Jackie took the time to go out and find 30 elves that were identical. I just think it is a really nice idea and will help bring footfall into the independent businesses. It will encourage children and their parents to walk into the stores,” added Ms Walsh.

Anyone wishing to participate in the Bradford on Avon elf trail can visit any of the participating businesses for an entry form or visit www.boabusiness.co.uk. The entry form deadline will be at 11am on December 24 at Piha in Lamb Yard.
