THE son of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White fraudulently racked up thousands of pounds on his ex-girlfriend's bank card on goods it is thought he sold for drugs, a court heard.

Former Big Brother contestant Marco Pierre White Jr, 21, was today ordered to perform unpaid work after admitting making a "high volume" of payments on Carina Evans' card after borrowing it to buy food on February 28.

After the card was blocked, the reality TV star, who gave his address as Rudloe Hall Hotel in Corsham, at an earlier hearing, then tricked her into unblocking it - pretending he had been arrested and needed to pay bail.

He then went on a shopping spree that saw him visit the Apple Store and Sunglasses Hut, where he proceeded to make further unauthorised transactions, Westminster Magistrates' Court heard.

Chief magistrate Emma Arbuthnot, who admonished the defendant for "smirking" in the dock, said the fraud was "to obtain goods which I assume you then sold to buy drugs".

She added: "There is no doubt this is serious enough for a community order."

Between May and August, Pierre White Jr went into rehabilitation for his drug problem, the court heard.

He was told he had to undertake 120 hours of unpaid work to be completed within 12 months, while paying £2,500 in compensation to his victim.

He had previously pleaded guilty to dishonestly making a false representation during a hearing at Hammersmith Magistrates' Court on November 23.

The heavily tattooed model, who appeared in court dressed in a cream jumper and a black baseball cap, was said to be remorseful for his behaviour.

Brett Weaver, defending, told the court: "He recognises that he behaved in an unacceptable manner, his actions were extremely foolish and upsetting for the loser. He is remorseful for his actions."

The judge interjected: "He is not looking very remorseful - he was just smirking."

On the day of the offence, Pierre White Jr appeared at Ms Evans's house half-dressed and dishevelled, claiming he needed food.

After disappearing with the bank card, he initially claimed that the reason it had been blocked was due to him being accidentally overcharged.

The amount he spent that day was disputed by the prosecution, but the court ruled the final amount was £2,500.

The judge said: "You pleaded guilty on the first day of trial for using your ex-partner's card for up to £2,500, possibly more, which you used to obtain goods which I assume you then sold to buy drugs."

The defendant had also paid for an Uber taxi using the card, the court heard.

In a victim statement read at the last hearing, Ms Evans said she had never been in a relationship with Pierre White Jr, who she described as "unstable" with a drug habit.

On Thursday, prosecutor Emily Maunders added the whole incident had caused the victim "considerable distress".

Previously, defence barrister Carl Newman said the pair had been in a relationship and Ms Evans had lent him the card in the past.

Pierre White Jr has previous convictions for driving under the influence of drugs earlier this year and for a public order offence in 2011.
