A SPELLBINDING evening took place at Bradford on Avon's library on Thursday as part of their Harry Potter themed event.

Magic was in the air at the library from 5.30-6.30pm, as 26 children, aged five to 10, got stuck into quizzes, treasure hunts, wand making and other themed activities.

This is the third time the venue has hosted the free event, which library assistant Debbie Russon was a sparkling success.

"It was just a really fun and enjoyable evening for everyone involved. All the kids made a brilliant effort with their costumes and it was clear that they loved it," she said.

"We put a fair amount of effort into making it work and it really did. Some of their Harry Potter knowledge was brilliant, it really put us to shame.

"They also really enjoyed the Diagon Alley treasure hunt, pin the scar on Harry but unfortunately we ran out of time for Harry Potter pictionary, but either way it was a great night that they really appreciated."
