A PLANNING application to build a coffee shop in the Spitfire Retail Park, Trowbridge, has been refused by Wiltshire Council.
The planning application, submitted by Premiere Coffee at the Bradley Road site, was refused on January 31 on the grounds it would have led to the loss of nine existing car parking spaces, with no additional parking spaces provided in the plans.
If approved it would also have included an outdoor seating area, two air conditioning condensers and new signage.
A separate planning application for eight new car parking spaces at the retail park, submitted by Friends Life Ltd, was also refused by Wiltshire Council because it would be “detrimental to the interests of the amenity of the immediate area contrary”.
