OFFICERS from Wiltshire Police will be making further enquiries in Westbury this evening (Wednesday February 15), one week after a woman was sexually assaulted by a man in the town.

The incident happened around 11.30pm on Wednesday February 8 at a property in the Market Place area, close to All Saints Church.

The suspect managed to climb through a window and carried out the assault on the woman but was disturbed and made off through the same window.

He is described as white, aged 20 - 30, tall with pronounced ears and short, dark hair. He was wearing a white jacket with blue markings and blue jeans.

Det Insp Simon Pope said: "We are following a number of lines of enquiry but believe the man who carried out this assault must know the area well.

"We would like to speak to anyone who was in this part of Westbury on Wednesday evening last week; even if you didn't hear or see anything suspicious we would like to eliminate you from our enquiries.

"We have CCTV which we are currently going through, so it would be helpful to hear from you if you were out and about in the town.

"We would also like to speak to a man seen on a bicycle in the area at 11.30pm - if that was you please contact us.

"Extra patrols will continue in the town and officers are furthering their house to house enquiries - if you have any information to report to police you can speak to any of our officers or call us on 101."
