A WOMAN was touched inappropriately by a man while she was walking her dogs yesterday afternoon in Corsham, prompting an increase of patrols in the area.

Wiltshire Police are appealing for information after the 48-year-old woman was touched by a man on Pockeridge Lane at approximately 3.20pm on Monday (March 6).

The man, who walked away following the incident, is described as white, aged between 30 and 40 years old, about 5ft 5in tall, with a round face and of average build. He had short dark blonde hair and a pale complexion. He spoke with a foreign accent.

PCSO Shaun Redmond said: "Officers attended the scene after receiving the report and an extensive area search was carried out, but unfortunately, we were not able to locate the man.

"The incident understandably left the woman feeling shaken and upset. We will be increasing patrols in the area and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Pockeridge Drive yesterday between 3pm and 4pm. Did you see this man prior to, or after the incident? You could have vital information."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
