COMMUTERS will have to save up big time ahead of travelling by train in June as the cheapest first class single ticket from Taunton to Trowbridge will set them back thousands of pounds.
On the Trainline’s website it states that the cheapest first class single ticket between the two stations in June will be an eye-watering £10,000.
The journey would cost commuters a staggering £138 per minute which would include a 33-minute CrossCountry train from Taunton to Bristol Temple Meads, a 13-minute wait in Bristol before a 39-minute Great Western Railway service to Trowbridge.
A Great Western Railway spokesman said: “We are aware of an IT glitch which has published fares for a first class journey that does not exist.
"We are working to remedy this as soon as possible.
“Anytime single fares between Taunton and Trowbridge are available from £12.70.”
