CLOSE friends from Keevil are gearing up to walk the London MoonWalk, which raises money for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Last November the village’s drama group put on a production of a play called Cheshire Cats, an emotional drama based on a group of friends completing the capital city fundraising event.
Following the production, cast members decided they would like to do it for real so teamed up to form the Keevil Katz and began training. On May 13, 18 villagers will walk through the streets of London overnight wearing striking bras designed by Pat Tucker, 71.
Mrs Tucker, of Main Street, who served tea and coffee to the audiences during intervals in November, said: “This will really bring the village community together.
“There are people of all ages taking part including myself and my husband, both in our 70s, and a 20-year-old.
“Most of the actors who took part in the November production of Cheshire Cats are taking part.
“It’s going to be a very tiring event but we’ve been training for it and it should be good fun, as well as rewarding to raise money for a very worthwhile cause.”
This will be the 20th ever London MoonWalk and will see men and women of all ages power walking through the centre of London in individually designed bras to raise awareness of and money for breast cancer.
