CHILDREN at Freshford Pre-school were treated to a day of decorating, story writing and dressing up when a children's author popped in to promote her latest book.
Maudie Smith brought in her new book, The Dressing Up Dad, to the school on Thursday, which is a celebration of dads and tells the tale of Danny and his dad who love dressing up.
Mrs Smith brought the story to life being bringing in a giant cardboard dad, which she and the children dressed up in different costumes, before the pupils dressed up their own cardboard dads too.
Debbie Giles, Freshford Pre-school Manager, said: "The children were so engaged listening to Maudie tell the story, and told us a few funny tales of their own Dads dressing up as the Easter Bunny or a Superhero.
"The book is brilliantly illustrated, helping to capture the children’s imagination and interest, and there are some very amusing moments."
Mrs Smith will be holding a book signing on Saturday, May 13, at The Galleries Shop, Freshford, between 10.30am–12pm.
